I beleive hat the U.S. is not declining, yet.  I believe that we will out live the Roman Empire and remain as one of the more major World Powers, I say this because we have better medicine, weapons, and Allies around the world willing to help us to times of need.  An example of us remaining resilient was during the Great Depression, I am using this example because many people thought that the economy/stocks market would crash and a new system would but like the stock markets we came back stronger.  We achieved this through our Allies helping us and giving up in the government to do the correct and best thing for our Nation.  Another example of us being resilient is during World War 1 and 2, the Romans I can assure you did not have technological weapons such as guns, tanks, bombs, planes, or any of the other things, except for ships; the Romans also didn't experience the bombing of Pearl Harbor like we Americans did.  This is why I think that we will outlive the Roman Empire and Become even more powerful then we already are.

Today in my Western Civ class my class and I learned about the controversial question if the Odyssey author Homer actually existed once, the debate has been going on for a very, very long time and has yet to reach a conclusion from what I hear about the subject.   We also learned about Greeks democracy and about how the Polis were a fundamental unit, made up of a city state. Today in Western Civ class I learned that to the west of the Fertile Crescent is Africa.   I also learned that the Nile River flows from South to North rather than North to South, another thing I learned about the Nile river is that it is like a clock that has a certain time each year that it will flood were as The Tigris and Euphrates are unpredictable and can flood whenever.   I also learned that when the Nile river overflows that it leaves behind a rich mud that can be identified as silt, silt helps the Egyptian people a lot as it contains many useful nutrients for plants and acts as a manure for them.   In Egypt Kings were considered to be Gods were as in Mesopotamia Kings were considered representatives of Gods.
