Today in my Western Civilization class my class and I took a test about Rome, the entire test was multiple choice questions and I honestly don't think that I did well on this particular test. I mean I did study a lot before the test, but as soon as I started taking it I completely lost everything that I had studied. I am not the best test taker, but everything else is pretty good for the most part, I do well on papers/projects, but tests are not my strong suit. The test had question that asked who certain peole were like who Nero was, who Tiberius was, etc.

Today in my Western Civilization class my class and I studied/reviewed how the Government came to be in a PowerPoint presented to us by our teacher. Today was also the first day of seeing Mr. Schick since his surgery, he looked to be in good health and was, as always in a cheery mood. We studied things such as the executive, judicial, and legislative branch of the government. The American Government is taken almost exactly from the previous Roman one. A strong military leader was chosen as the head of the Executive Branch, it has since been more career politicians. The Legislative Branch was made up of Senators that came from wealthy individuals or families / backgrounds, not much has changed since then as it’s pretty much the same today. The Judicial Branch spoke more, as it does now, for the common man.

The history books provided for my class talks about how Pompey became Julius Caesar's politoical rival in the rap there is no recollection of this happening. In the rap there is also talk of draining a swamp and building Rome on top of this dries out swamp there is no mention in the books about this. I do however like that both the rap and the books cover that Julius Caesar team up with two other guys to attain political power, Pompey was one of these two guys that Caesar decided to team up with. I think that both the rap and the books cover important point that the other one had missed

I beleive hat the U.S. is not declining, yet. I believe that we will out live the Roman Empire and remain as one of the more major World Powers, I say this because we have better medicine, weapons, and Allies around the world willing to help us to times of need. An example of us remaining resilient was during the Great Depression, I am using this example because many people thought that the economy/stocks market would crash and a new system would but like the stock markets we came back stronger. We achieved this through our Allies helping us and giving up in the government to do the correct and best thing for our Nation. Another example of us being resilient is during World War 1 and 2, the Romans I can assure you did not have technological weapons such as guns, tanks, bombs, planes, or any of the other things, except for ships; the Romans also didn't experience the bombing of Pearl Harbor like we Americans did. This is why I think that we will outlive the ...
